What is the "heart" of your business?

The Mayo Clinic defines the Mediterranean diet as a "heart-healthy eating plan."  Okay, so to apply it to your businesses marketing.  Take a piece of paper and answer the following question: What is the heart of my business?

Take a few minutes to think about that question before you write down your answer.  Consider the following: If you own a restaurant the heart of your business could be your menu. If you run an automotive shop it could be the services that you offer. 

Some industries may have one or more "hearts" to their business.  For instance a realtor has buyers, sellers and sometimes even renters, their hearts may vary based on the group that they are targeting.   Regardless of the quantity of hearts in your business, you can streamline all of your marketing efforts to work efficiently for each and every one.

After you've written down and clarified what the heart (or hearts) are of your business, you will be better able to not only remember each day what it is you are working for but to also remember what is keeping you working.  Take care of your heart and always ensure that it is healthy and strong.
