Aside from the ability to use the iPhone as an iPod and the ever elusive allure that the app world brings, I did have a few concerns.
One of my first concerns is that I would not be able to type as freely on the iPhone as I have been able to on the BlackBerry's keypad. I like the feeling of pushing the buttons on the BlackBerry as I do on my laptop keyboard.
Another concern, like many other BlackBerry users have expressed, was the effectiveness of email use on the iPhone. Previously, I have heard mixed reports that reading and composing emails on the BlackBerry was superior to the iPhone.
With no "trial period" available with a switch to the iPhone, my last concern was that, overall, I would not like the iPhone, miss my BlackBerry and not be able to make the switch back without enduring the expensive contract cancellation fees.

| BlackBerry vs. iPhone |
Before reading Fuld's post, I thought that I would find all the best reasons in the world to give up the thought of switching to the iPhone and stick with my ally and friend: the BlackBerry.
You can bet your Mediterranean Marketing that I was wrong. After reading this post, I not only had all of my questions answered, but I also learned some new information regarding photos, to customizable folders, to Facebook fan page management options, Fuld's post makes the iPhone not only more appealing but a no-brainer.
Hopefully, my post and the post by Fuld will help other BlackBerry owners (and or addicts) make a comfortable switch to the iPhone.

I never had a Blackberry, so can't relate to your switching story directly. I went straight from a Razr Flip Phone to the first issue of iPhone years ago and fell in love.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a Mac person anyway. My office has the biggest screen iMac available to man, plus a MacBook Pro and I'm getting ready to add a second huge iMac to my desk. Yes, two! Yea!
I'm glad you've come on over from the dark side. ;-)
